Engineered raw TCP socket streaming and backpressure handling for rejected WebSocket upgrades in Cloudflare Workers SDK (Miniflare / Wrangler). Ensured custom rejection responses (such as 401 Unauthorized or 403 Forbidden with payload bodies) stream completely before socket teardown, eliminating connection hanging.

Engineering objective
When a Worker rejected a WebSocket upgrade request with an HTTP status other than 101 Switching Protocols (e.g., 401 or 403 with an error payload), Miniflare closed the socket prematurely before flushing response buffers, hanging clients and truncating error messages.
Constraints
Approach
Engineered raw TCP streaming conduit for non-101 rejection responses.
Implemented backpressure-aware socket drain loops and graceful FIN termination.
Integrated automated end-to-end integration tests asserting complete HTTP payload reception on rejected WebSocket handshakes.
